PTFS Releases Enterprise Content Management White Paper
Bethesda, MD – PTFS has released its newest Enterprise Content Management (ECM) White Paper. This White Paper is a culmination of the hands on experience as well as research and development PTFS staff have conducted over the past 10 years in the realm of knowledge management and ECM.
With 10 years worth of development, PTFS's flagship ECM software, ArchivalWare™ provides logical browse hierarchies, full text searching, and Adaptive Pattern Recognition to it's users. These powerful tools make managing, locating, and analyzing content available at the click of a mouse without struggling through enterprise information.
“When we first started developing ArchivalWare we knew we wanted to provide what are today knowledge management tools to our customers. We had the tools and the software, it was just a matter of combining the two for our customers,” said Dan Quinn, VP of Marketing for PTFS.
ArchivalWare provides its users with two functions for organizing and locating content: an intelligent browse hierarchy and full text searching. The intuitive browse hierarchy provides a quick view of folder structures for users who know exactly what documents or files they're trying to locate.
For users conducting the 'needle in a haystack' search, there is the full text searching option. ArchivalWare's powerful semantic indexing tools allow users to search across every word of every text. Using concept searching, results for synonyms can also be returned.
As mentioned before the Adaptive Pattern Recognition technology or Pattern Searching overcomes poor OCR quality or native format quality or even spelling errors by recognizing the context of what is available of the word. So, for example, a news paper clipping has a line drawn through it and the only letters in sight are "A-*-D-E-S", ArchivalWare could recognize that word as Andes. With Pattern searching, if Andes had been spelled Adnes, ArchivalWare could also recognize this as Andes as well.
The Pattern Searching function can be fine tuned as well to pickup weaker hits or only very strong hits depending on user preferences.
