Open Source ILS Solutions:   Koha and Evergreen
|

|
PTFS offers a complete web-based library management software solution designed to facilitate the acquisition, maintenance, and dissemination of bibliographic collections and digital
collections within the same system. Utilizing open source integrated library system (ILS) software with PTFS's award-winning ArchivalWare digital repository software, PTFS offers
libraries the 'next generation' solution to manage all of a library's assets using one integrated tool.
Building on both the Evergreen and Koha open source ILS platforms, PTFS offers libraries the right solution for the right type of library. Library staff access to the system is completely
web-based; acquisitions, circulation, cataloging, serials and reports can all be done through a web browser. No software is installed on library staff workstations. The online catalog's web
interface marries traditional bibliographic information and metadata descriptions with OPAC-enriched resources such as book jacket images and table-of-contents. Patrons can renew items and
place holds over the web. Search results can be refined or sorted by relevance. Searches can be expanded to other online resources such as Google Scholar.
This next generation digital library system adheres to industry-accepted standards such as MARC, MARCXML, Dublin Core, RSS/Atom, EndNote, OpenURL, Z39.50, UNICODE, and SIP2.
Since the core of the ILS is built using open source software, it is governed by the GNU General Public License - there is no fee associated with the ILS.
PTFS provides hosting services for the software system and library data is in a secure data facility. You don't need to buy server hardware or software. All you need is a web browser.
PTFS offers training services, implementation and installation services, policy configuration services, annual maintenance (with email and helpdesk support), and hosting services.
PTFS also offers support services to help libraries export legacy ILS and digital data (bibliographic records, authority records, item/copy records, acquisitions data, digital objects and metadata records, patron records, and other general circulation data).
