John Yokley is the President, CEO and founder of Progressive Technology Federal Systems Inc. (PTFS) located in North Bethesda, Maryland. Mr. Yokley has over 30 years of experience in the field of engineering management and information technology consulting for government and industry. Mr. Yokley established PTFS in 1995 to service federal government clients who require content management solutions, digitization services, and systems integration services, as well as professional and technical support services, primarily in the library science domain. Under Mr. Yokley’s leadership, PTFS has expanded its capabilities and grown to employ 150 staff.
Starting in 2007, Mr. Yokley launched multiple new vertical market strategies and expanded the Knowvation™ content management software product line (formerly ArchivalWare) to support digital library markets and exploit emerging geospatial intelligence and government declassification requirements. The fully featured geospatial content management system (Knowvation GS™) is the first of its kind to truly support multi-INT data sources. Knowvation DX™ is a highly efficient semi-automated declassification processing solution providing a rapid ROI. Recently, Mr. Yokley designed and rolled out a true Digital Library System (DLS), now known as Bibliovation™, capable of managing physical as well as electronic materials including digital documents, photographs, digital video, e-books, etc. This turn-key application supports 100% of the requirements and automates the workflow of special, academic and public libraries.
In the 80's, Mr. Yokley designed and built computer-based simulators and trainers for military applications. He also performed business development: delivering engineering strategies and solutions for small and large business. Mr. Yokley is a graduate from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (1980) and from George Washington University with a Masters in Engineering Administration (1985).
